Coronado Crops Program
Do you have too much fruit on your trees?
Emerald Keepers high school interns are once again launching Coronado Crops, a program to make sure nutritious produce doesn’t go to waste. They will pick your fruit, which will be delivered to the Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center Food Pantry by Rotary Club of Coronado. In partnership with the Coronado Public Library, Rotary Club already delivers produce grown in CHS and CMS Emerald Keepers Club gardens to the Food Pantry.
Over one in six people in San Diego don’t know where their next meal is coming from, and with the Coronado Crops program, you can help Coronado be part of the solution.
Request your preferred weekend date and time, and Emerald Keepers interns will provide the labor and tools to pick your crops for a good cause. You can have all or part of your crops removed.
Removing fruit from trees will not only help those in need, but also your tree and yard. Fruit left on trees eventually rots, attracting rodents and insects.
